Psychiatric Registered Nurse (Behavioral Health)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Psychiatric Registered Nurse with at least two years of specialized experience to join our multidisciplinary behavioral health team. This role utilizes a Team Nursing model, where you will serve as a primary clinical link between patients, physicians, and support staff. You will actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to develop, monitor, and refine comprehensive treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Participate in regular team meetings with physicians and psychiatrists to communicate patient progress, behavioral observations, and treatment efficacy.
- Discharge Coordination: Partner closely with social workers and care managers to facilitate safe and effective discharge planning, ensuring continuity of care post-hospitalization.
- Medication Management: Safely dispense and manage psychiatric medications using the Omnicell automated system.
- Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate, real-time patient records and progress notes within the EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Crisis Intervention: Implement de-escalation techniques and crisis stabilization protocols as needed within the behavioral health unit.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting is required.
- Licensure: Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Certifications: Current BLS (AHA or ARC) is required.
- Note: IV Certification is not required for this position.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in EPIC and Omnicell is mandatory.
