We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for our Medical-Surgical Stepdown Unit. This role is ideal for nurses who excel in a progressive care environment, bridging the gap between intensive care and general medical-surgical floors. You will manage patients requiring high-frequency monitoring and specialized pharmacological interventions.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Medication Management: Safely administer and monitor high-alert titratable drips, specifically Cardizem (Diltiazem) and Heparin.
  • Cardiac Monitoring: Maintain proficiency in telemetry oversight, including real-time rhythm interpretation and rapid response to cardiac changes.
  • Complex Patient Care: Lead nursing interventions for patients transitioning from the ICU or those with acute cardiovascular and respiratory conditions.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate with physicians and specialists to adjust care plans based on continuous vital sign data and patient assessment. 

Schedule & Commitment

  • Shift: 12-hour day shifts (e.g., 07:00 – 19:00).
  • Frequency: 3 days per week (36 hours total).
  • Weekend Rotation: Mandatory participation in a rotating schedule, requiring work every third weekend

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a stepdown, telemetry, or high-acuity med/surg environment is highly preferred.
  • Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS are required.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrated comfort with cardiac drip titration and telemetry monitoring systems.
