Interventional Radiology Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist for a travel contract. This role requires technical expertise in assisting with a broad range of angiography examinations and minimally invasive procedures. The ideal candidate is highly proficient with GE Innova imaging systems and possesses the clinical confidence to act as a primary assistant during complex interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Procedural Assistance: Scrub in and assist physicians with angiography examinations and interventional procedures, including Line Placements, Angiograms, Kyphoplasty, and Percutaneous Nephrostomy exams.
- Imaging Technology: Operate and troubleshoot GE Innova equipment to ensure high-quality imaging and patient safety.
- Patient Care: Prepare and position patients for sterile procedures, maintaining a safe radiation environment (ALARA) for patients and staff.
- Emergency Response: Participate in the IR call rotation to support urgent and emergent cases after hours.
Schedule & Call Requirements
- Shifts: Five 8-hour shifts per week (Monday – Friday).
- Standard Hours: 07:00 – 15:30.
- On-Call: Mandatory participation in the call rotation as needed to meet department requirements.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Active RT(ARRT) certification is required.
- Experience: Proven experience in a high-volume Interventional Radiology or Angiography suite.
- Equipment Proficiency: Direct experience with GE Innova imaging platforms is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Mastery of sterile technique and knowledge of IR procedural steps (e.g., access, wire/catheter management).
