FULL-TIME MANUAL MACHINIST TO START IMMEDIATELY!
Duties include:
Must be able to work without supervision, produce new replacements, and repair of hydraulic machine parts on a variety of manual machine tools, (Lathes, Mills, Grinders).
This is highly diversified work involving the shaping of metal parts to precise dimensions with close tolerances, fit and finishes. Manual Machinists are good at math with analytical abilities, manual skill, and an eye for detail.
Responsibilities:
- Plan the sequence of necessary operations for the completion of a machined part.
- Select appropriate machines (lathes, mills), set up and perform machining operations to produce required parts.
- Ability to use precision tools (micrometers, calipers) to take accurate measurements
- Knowledge of the properties of various common metals and other materials
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals with good retention and comprehension.
- Ability to create shop drawings and sketches documenting critical dimensions of completed machine parts.
- Ability to machine cut and fit various thread types both internal and external on a wide range of diameters and differing materials.
Requirements:
- Machinists should have their own machinist hand tools and be comfortable using overhead cranes and lifting devices (slings, chains, fork truck, and jib cranes).
- Must take verbal instructions to program, set up and operate various machine tools to fabricate a wide array of component parts (standard, special, sample) from simple parts to the complex.
- Must maintain machine tools for proper operation and efficiency.
- Schedule and perform maintenance on the machines working with and informing the maintenance department of required repairs or maintenance to keep the machines in proper operating condition.
- Ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written word. Ability to work together closely on a team to solve difficult problems.
- Basic hydraulic knowledge is a plus but not required.
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous Manual Machining experience required
- Journeyman Machinist or Tool & Die Papers a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
